1 Dispatch Hub & Delivery Scope

All shipping container orders placed with Dutch Container Trading (DCT) B.V. are dispatched from our primary operational depot located at:

We provide nationwide transport and professional crane placement across all Dutch provinces, as well as cross-border heavy-haul logistics to Belgium, Germany, and broader Western Europe.

2 Handling Time, Transit Times & Delivery Rates

Orders are processed and scheduled sequentially following receipt of formal order confirmation and payment clearance.

3 Transport & Delivery Options

Depending on your site capabilities, we offer two distinct delivery mechanisms:

• Delivery with Crane Truck (Kraanwagen): The most common delivery method for standard customers. Our transport partners arrive with a heavy hydraulic crane mounted on the vehicle chassis, lifting the container directly off the truck and placing it on your designated level ground (typically up to 5–7 meters parallel to the truck).
• Standard Chassis / Flatbed Delivery (Without Crane): Recommended only for industrial terminals, construction depots, or logistics parks that have their own heavy forklift, reach stacker, or mobile crane on-site to lift the container off our trailer.

4 Customer Site Access & Offloading Responsibilities

Because shipping container crane trucks are heavy vehicles weighing between 25 and 40 metric tons, the buyer is responsible for ensuring the delivery site meets the following safety criteria:

• Roadway Clearances: A minimum road/gate width of 3.2 meters and an overhead clearance of at least 4.2 meters (free of tree branches, overhead utility cables, and roof overhangs).
• Ground Bearing Capacity: The access route and placement area must consist of solid, compacted ground (paved roadway, concrete, or compacted gravel). We cannot drive over soft turf, grass, or unpaved mud.
• Level Foundation: The surface must be level. Placing four concrete paving tiles or hardwood railway sleepers under the four corner castings is strongly recommended to maintain perfect door alignment.
• Door Orientation Notice: Customers must specify whether container doors should face the front (cab) or rear of the truck prior to gate-out loading at our Rotterdam depot.

5 Depot Self-Collection Protocol (Bunschotenweg 145)

If you prefer to arrange your own logistics carrier or collect the container with your own suitable container vehicle:

• Notify our team at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a depot gate-in window.
• We will issue an official Release Reference (Pincode / Referentie).
• Your carrier must present this reference at our terminal gate at Bunschotenweg 145, 3089KB Rotterdam.
• Our depot gantry will load the container onto your trailer free of terminal loading charges.

6 Delivery Scheduling & Tracking

Once your order has cleared our quality inspection and is released for transit:

• Our logistics coordinator will contact you by telephone or email 24 to 48 hours in advance to agree upon a delivery date and time window.
• On the delivery day, the driver will call approximately 30–60 minutes prior to arrival to confirm that the site is ready and clear.

7 Inspection Upon Delivery & Damaged Freight Protocol

Deliveries are governed by the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) and Dutch transport conditions:

• Visual Inspection: You must visually inspect the exterior, door operation, and structural condition of the container in the presence of the driver.
• Noting Exceptions on the CMR: In the rare event of damage during transit, note the specific damages clearly on the carrier’s consignment note (CMR / vrachtbrief) before signing.
• Notify Us Within 48 Hours: Email photos of the damage and a copy of the CMR note to verkoop@dutchcontainertrading.com. We will immediately arrange on-site repair, a replacement unit, or a refund pursuant to our Refund and Returns Policy.

8 Failed Deliveries & Waiting Time

A standard 30-minute offloading window is included in your delivery rate. If delivery cannot occur due to site inaccessibility, lack of required clearances, absence of an authorized recipient, or ground failure:

• Additional waiting time beyond the included 30 minutes is billed at standard hourly carrier demurrage rates.
• If the truck must return to our depot without offloading, redelivery or return freight charges will apply.
